Simple Christmas Angels Make Personal and Inspirational Gifts
After meeting my Target Angel, read my post on our Law of Attraction blog, I was inspired to make a visual journal called Christmas Angels. This is the result of that chance meeting with an angel. If you’d like to replicate this idea, all you need to do is find a printable angel or other image you’d like. Clip and cut out tiny images or pieces of images that are calling to you and glue them together on the angel image. Then paint your canvas any color you’d like and attach the visual journal angel. Paint again over the top of the angel with a light color paint and a mixture of glue to seal the image in place. Enjoy your inspired masterpiece.
These also make unique Christmas presents that will be personal and inspirational gifts your family and friends will love. Attach a satin ribbon to hang and voila!
Happy creating!

Keeping Dream Journals Leads to Illumination
Messages and spiritual illuminations come in many guises and from many directions. It’s up to each one of us to pay attention to the daily gifts the universe sends. For some, insight arrives in dreams. I know for myself that I am blessed with vivid dreams often and am able to be in a lucid state during some of them. A lucid dream is one in which the dreamer is aware that she is dreaming and can be a by-stander or even control aspects of the dream.
A spiritual teacher of mine, Stephanie Stanfield, once explained that the universe is pleased when we acknowledge our dreams. It’s a message to God, our angels, and our guides that we hear what they are saying.
Keeping dream journals is one way to honor the universe. To get started, you just need to decide how you are going to utilize the dream journals. Some people choose to set an intention before they go to sleep in order to remember their dream. An intention might be, “Tonight, I will dream and when I wake up, I will recall the details of my dreams.”
Another way to keep a dream journal is to journal before falling asleep. Write down in your journal questions about any areas in your life that you would like some clarity. Upon rising, write down your dream and see if there are any connections between your dream and the questions. You might recall an image that connects to your question or maybe you might see repeating phrases that resonate with you.
Creating visual journals of a dream is my own preferred way to gain insight from my dreams. After awaking from sleep, I look through magazines and find words or phrases that capture the essence of my dream. Then I write about the visual journal I created. This particular method of keeping a dream journal seems to hold or solidify my dreams longer.
No matter which technique you use, keeping a record of your dreams will help illuminate new understandings. Honor the messages your receive, and you’ll be surprised how often the universe responds. Before long, your nights will be filled with amazing dreams that will inspire you. You’ll be that person that walks around each day saying, “You’ll never believe the dream I had last night!”
Michael Franti sings, “Don’t fear the nighttime, because the monsters know you’re divine.”
You are divine. Embrace the night and be awed by the illuminations that shine in the darkness.

Inner Child: Pearls of Wisdom
“What are you waiting for? Wear the pearls!”
This statement woke me from sleep at around 3:00 a.m. one night recently. I had selected a picture earlier that week for a picture collage I was doing to honor my inner child. The image was of a young girl, no more than six, draped in strand after strand of pearls. So, I believe these pearls of wisdom came from her. At 3:00 in the morning, I really didn’t want to ponder the message, but when I woke up later it was still ringing in my head. What was the message? What did that wise child want me to know and recognize?
Well, for me it was a message of living…especially in the moment. Why was I saving my lovely, expensive pearls just for special occasions? I can’t think of the last time that I wore them. Their beauty was trapped in a box and hidden from the world. What a shame? Needless to say, I heeded the message and put my pearls on with my denim skirt, flip flops, and my white cotton t-shirt that very morning. When I walked outside, I smiled a smile of naughtiness. Knowing I was doing something unconventional somewhat thrilled me.
During the day, a few people noticed. No one said anything though. I secretly wished they had because I would love to start a revolution. A revolution to not put anything on hold for the “right time”. There is no other time than right now. I am using the pearls of wisdom from my inner child to apply to other facets of my life that I have put away in a box. What am I waiting for? Wear the pearls!
At Seeds of Intentions, we have a perfect pearl necklace from Dogeared Jewelry to
begin your process of “wearing the pearls”. It has it’s own inspiring message: “from humble beginnings as a grain of sand, the pearl slowly grows into an object of beauty and simplicity. symbolic of honesty, integrity, prosperity, and wisdom. pearls represent the best within us. let your necklace be a daily reminder of the beauty that shines from a loving heart. enjoy and believe!”
You may also consider journaling or creating a visual journal page to honor your own inner child. His or her wisdom is magical and should never be taken for granted. Below you’ll see my “Pearl Girl”. She is a wise one!

Visual Journals
If you’re a journal writer and a scrapbooker, you may very well enjoy the art and expression of visual journals. We at Seeds of Intentions, more specifically Amy Spradlin, have been introduced to the art and creative expression of visual journaling. In fact Amy, co-founder of Seeds of Intentions has worked with Sheri Gaynor (author of Creative Awakenings) on visual journaling and has been inspired by this form of expression.
Sheri Gaynor is a licensed clinical social worker, a registered art therapist, professional coach and a mixed-media artist. She offers transformational workshops, retreats and events, combining writing, photography and mixed-media. Sheri resides with her husband just outside of Aspen, Colorado, in Carbondale, which is where Seeds of Intentions is headquartered. For more about Sheri, visit her website at about Living Our Dreams.
We’re taking the time in this blog to introduce you to Sheri, her professional offerings and to highly recommend her newest book Creative Awakenings…which reinforces all that we are here to share with you!
This artfully designed book invites you utilize your creativity to manifest your personal intention. Work in the spirit of the laws of attraction to visualize the life of your dreams.
Follow the journey of twelve artists (many we personally know from our community here in Carbondale), each who will set a personal dream or intention.
Witness the process that each artist takes, as they create a mixed-media piece that sows the seeds of their intention. Step-by-step techniques for a variety of mixed-media processes accompany each piece of finished art. Read about how their lives changed as a result and learn how to set intentions of your own using the bonus tear-out “dream-prompt” cards.
If you enjoy the art of visual journal-ing or are inspired by the notion of visual journals you’ll want to check out our recommendations below!
